Job Description
SUMMARY:
Designs and delivers targeted supplemental programs and interventions to support Migratory students—prioritizing those with the greatest need—through extended day, weekend, and summer services while collaborating with school staff to address academic gaps. Monitors student progress, maintains compliance records, and provides advocacy, communication, and referrals to ensure students receive appropriate academic and social support.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Designs and implements academic supplemental programs to meet individual needs of Migratory students to include extended day activities, Fall/Spring/Summer, and Saturday programming, focusing on Priority for Service (PFS) students, Priority 2 and then Priority 3. Follows a flexible schedule as assigned by the Federal Programs Director. Collaborates with school principals and coaches to identify academic proficiency gaps. Develops and schedules intervention groups using approved curricula to help migratory students-specifically Priority for Service (PFS) students-reach grade-level standards. Day and times of Migrant Education Program (MEP)-funded services: Monday through Friday before or after school hours, Saturday and Summer Provides ongoing communication with school staff regarding Migratory student needs/progress and participation in program activities. Monitors Migratory student progress to assure appropriate educational placement and support services offered through the school first and then through MEP-funded support services. As needed, meets individually with Migratory students to communicate about achievement test results, grades, etc. Demonstrates a strong grasp of intervention strategies in core academic subjects (English Language Arts, Reading, Writing Math, Science, Social Studies, etc.). Assists Migratory students with personal and academic challenges through advocacy and advisement. Acts as a referral source for school-based services as well as community social service agencies for Migratory students, parents, and families. Participates in school, community, and MEP activities, to support Migratory students. Maintains accurate and complete student records as required by law, district policies, and administrative regulations.REPORTS TO
: Federal Programs ManagerMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines Must possess an Arizona State teaching certification. Bachelor's degree in education preferred. Prior public school teaching and/or counseling experience preferred.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
