Non-Exempt Other Compensation:
Employer-paid medical for employee and family, employer-paid dental, vision and group life insurance for employee - estimated value $8,243.28 - $23,823.84/annual Employer-paid sick pay (12 days per year) - estimated value $2,630.40/annual Employer-paid vacation pay (10-20 days per year depending on years of service) - estimated value $2,192.40/annual for first year of service Employer-paid anniversary holiday (1-5 days annually depending on years of service) - estimated value $219.20 annual for first year of service Employer-paid birthday holiday (1 day annually) - estimated value $219.20/annual SHIELDS' mission is to develop, deliver and evaluate culturally sensitive, comprehensive service models that empower and advocate for high-risk families in South Los Angeles. We are seeking a dedicated Parent Educator to provide home-based family support services focused on strengthening parent-child relationships and promoting healthy early childhood development for children ages 0-5. Responsibilities include conducting home visits; developing individualized family service plans; providing parenting education, family support, and guidance on health, safety, nutrition, and child development; conducting screenings and assessments; coordinating referrals and community resources; supporting families in crisis situations; and assisting with goal setting and continuity of care. The Parent Educator will maintain accurate client documentation and data reporting, participate in case conferences and team meetings, collaborate with community agencies, and ensure compliance with agency, program, and funding requirements. Strong communication, assessment, advocacy, and relationship-building skills are essential, along with the ability to support families through a strengths-based, family-centered approach.

Experience working with high-risk families, young children, or community-based programs is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication, advocacy, assessment, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively document services and utilize computer-based systems and word processing software. The ideal candidate is culturally responsive, able to work respectfully with diverse populations, and committed to a family-centered, strengths-based approach. A valid California driver's license, current vehicle registration, and proof of insurance are required. Candidates must be able to comply with all agency policies, confidentiality standards, and applicable state and federal regulations, adapt to changing program needs, collaborate effectively within a team environment, and perform job duties safely without endangering themselves or others.
