As a School Social Worker on a full-time contract, you'll offer vital mental health services and support to diverse student populations, ranging from early childhood education through high school. This opportunity is for those who are passionate about fostering student growth, well-being, and achievement through expert counseling and collaborative problem-solving.
Key qualifications and background include:
Minimum of 3 years of prior experience as a social worker in school settings Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution Valid Colorado Special Service Provider license for School Social Worker (birth-21) In-depth understanding of student development, counseling techniques, and crisis intervention Willingness to complete time-sensitive background check and fingerprinting processes Responsibilities and daily duties: Deliver individualized and group mental health supports to students Address social, emotional, behavioral, and attendance challenges that affect school success Assess student needs and coordinate referrals to outside agencies when additional support is required Collaborate with parents, teachers, and administrators to develop an inclusive support plan Maintain organized and confidential case files, documenting interventions and progress Facilitate workshops and student remediation, including counseling and treatment plans Commit to the full duration of the school year—consistency and follow-through are essential Assignments are split between two schools, with varied age groups assigned on a first-come, first-served basis: Lotus School for Excellence (.6) & Mrachek Middle School (.4) Vista Peak Exploratory (.5) & Jamaica CDC (.5) Take your expertise to the next level while making a difference in a supportive educational community.
