HIRING SALARY RANGE

SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a part-time, one-year grant-funded position, provided through the the Colorado Student ReEngagement Grant. Depending on funding availability, this could extend to three years. This position is an integral part of Red Canyon High School's school improvement efforts, as aligned to our Unified Improvement Plan's Major Improvement Strategy centered around decreasing chronic absenteeism and truancy. The School Improvement Coordinator will work with members of the RCHS community to implement the Attendance Strategy 2.0 Guidelines from the Colorado Department of Education.

ESSENTIAL JOB ELEMENTS
Support attendance tracking in PowerSchool or an alternative platform/method to inform next steps for students Work with teachers and staff on parent/guardian/community outreach regarding attendance and truancy Conduct home visits and regular check ins with identified students and families Coordinate a mentor-buddy system to support students who are identified as chronically absent or truant Support the Assistant Principal tasked with attendance work, weekly phone calls, plan development, etc. Coordinate, plan, and provide logistical support for the student/family meetings Coordinate with district and local resources to maintain and support programming Work closely with the RCHS School Improvement Working Group to revise and implement systems and structures Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent Bachelor's degree or higher in social work, criminal justice, education or a related field is preferred Effective communication and interpersonal skills in English and Spanish Effective organizational, time management and problem-solving skills. Computer skills: software management applications and on the Google Platform (Google docs, sheets, forms, etc.) Successful experience working with at-risk youth and their families Successful experience working with confidential information Must be able to pass a background check that shows candidate is suitable to interact with minors, which can be determined by searches in pertinent and reasonably accessible federal, state, and (if applicable) local sex offender and child abuse registries, criminal history registries, and fingerprint searches. Must be eligible for employment in the United States Bilingual Preferred (English/Spanish)
