This contract opportunity near West Hartford, CT, runs from late October through January and is ideal for professionals passionate about fostering student well-being and community engagement. As part of a dedicated educational team, you'll be on-site, working with students, faculty, and families to facilitate growth and resilience.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active Social Worker (SW) license with a School Social Worker endorsement (#071) required Previous experience in a school setting preferred Strong understanding of child development, crisis intervention, and behavioral management Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to adapt to changing needs and work effectively within diverse school communities
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct individual and group sessions to support students emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create and implement intervention plans Assist in crisis situations, providing immediate support and appropriate referrals Promote social and emotional learning through development and delivery of targeted programs Maintain detailed, confidential student records and documentation as required by school policies
