Job Description

Job Overview Join our vibrant school community as a School Cafeteria Worker, where your energy and dedication will help create a welcoming and nutritious environment for students. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving healthy meals, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and supporting the overall dining experience. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will ensure that students enjoy their meals in a clean, safe, and friendly setting. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to student well-being while developing valuable skills in food service and hospitality. Responsibilities Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks to students in accordance with school guidelines and food safety standards Set up dining areas, including arranging tables, chairs, and serving stations to ensure a welcoming environment Assist with food handling, portioning, and presentation to ensure quality and consistency Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly Support dietary accommodations by following specific dietary guidelines or restrictions for students with special needs Monitor student behavior during meal times to promote positive dining experiences and ensure safety Follow all food safety protocols, including proper storage of ingredients and adherence to hygiene standards NSLP Work, Filling out paperwork and catching up with what is needed to continue program Skills Experience in fine dining or food service environments that require attention to detail and presentation skills Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with students, staff, and colleagues Knowledge of serving techniques and food preparation methods within a cafeteria or catering setting Previous banquet or catering experience is a plus, demonstrating ability to handle large-scale food service operations Food handling certification or training in food safety practices is highly desirable Experience working in the food industry or restaurant environment that emphasizes hygiene and quality standards Barista or hospitality experience can enhance your ability to deliver excellent service in a fast-paced setting Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining efficiency during busy meal periods This role is perfect for individuals passionate about food service, eager to foster a positive dining atmosphere, and committed to promoting healthy eating habits among students.
