Under the supervision of the Club Director, the Family & Collaboration Liaison is responsible for effectively engaging families, school personnel and community members to support students achievements. The Family & Collaboration Liaison will deliver innovative thinking and business-changing recommendations that will support the core of our youth development and social impact work. The Family & Collaboration Liaison serves as a liaison between teachers, parents, students, support staff and the community regarding educational programs, services, and student issues in areas such as attendance, academics, behavior and health. The successful candidate will show passion for youth, be able to articulate how they steward resources, identify how integrity relates to the position, and have a history of demonstrating respect for all contacts including clients, peers, agency partners, and the general community.JOB REQUIREMENTS
Coordinates program assigned activities and case management (home visits, parent meetings, parent/volunteer involvement programs, community involvement processes, etc.). Make phone calls and home visits assigned to identified students and families. Assist counselors and teachers in communicating with the parents of students who are having attendance and academic problems in school. Attend IEP meetings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information to ensure students academic progress. Assist in coordinating and arranging various programs and services to meet the needs of students. Provide outreach, liaison, and guidance services to assist in resolving student issues and problems in areas such as attendance, academics, behavior, and health; work with parents, teachers, and others in developing and implementing strategies, goals, and objectives for resolving student issues. Serve as an informational resource to parents, staff and others concerning school programs, services, attendance issues and other matters; respond to inquiries and provide information concerning related activities, standards, guidelines, practices, goals, objectives, processes, policies, and procedures. Provide tutoring and academic assistance to individual and small groups of students to enhance skills and knowledge and resolve academic issues in various subject areas as assigned by the position; assist students in understanding and completing assignments, homework, and projects. Compose, distribute, and respond to a variety of correspondence related to assigned liaison and support services; initiate and receive telephone calls; make home visits; and schedule and arrange various student, parent and other appointments as assigned. Establish and maintain partnerships with community agencies to facilitate and enhance support services for students, parents, and teachers. Assist in coordinating and arranging various programs and services to meet the needs of students, parents, and teachers. Organize parent and family engagement forums and educational learning opportunities (e.g., enhancing parenting skills, volunteer training, child growth, and development) for enriching family members supporting family needs. Assist in other areas as needed.QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Any combination equivalent to sufficient experience, training and/or education to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above. Typically, this would be gained through graduation from college and two years of work experience with students or families in a social services or educational environment. Considerable knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs and/or the practices and principles of non-profit organizations. Strong communication skills, both oral and written; ability to speak effectively and persuasively to groups and individuals, demonstrates resiliency and instilling trust in others, while developing a culture of caring. Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision. Valid driver s license and approved to drive by our insurance carrier (minimum age 21).TRAVEL:
Travel will be required to multiple Club facilities throughout Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando and Pinellas County for supervisory, training and/or other business purposes.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
