Job Description

Overview Join our vibrant school community as a School Cafeteria Worker, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a welcoming and nourishing environment for students and staff alike. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals, maintaining a clean and organized cafeteria, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld at all times. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will contribute to a smooth dining experience that supports student well-being and promotes healthy eating habits. Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and menu plans Maintain cleanliness of all food preparation areas, dining spaces, and kitchen equipment to ensure a safe environment Assist with food handling, portioning, and presentation to deliver appealing meals to students Support food safety protocols by following proper hygiene practices, including proper storage, sanitation, and temperature controls Provide friendly customer service by greeting students warmly, answering questions, and assisting with meal choices Help set up dining areas for meal service, including arranging tables and cleaning up after meals Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient meal service during busy school hours and special events such as banquets or catering functions Requirements Prior experience in food service, catering, or the food industry is highly desirable, especially with fine dining or banquet experience Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor Ability to serve efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Knowledge of food handling safety standards and proper sanitation procedures Experience working in hospitality settings such as restaurants or cafes is beneficial Dietary aide or food safety certifications are a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform routine cleaning tasks Join us in fostering a positive dining atmosphere where every student receives nourishing meals served with care! Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
