Apply today to the Social Work/Mental Health Professional position at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties (BGCSDC). Social Worker/Mental Health Professionals must be flexible, able to work with kids in a variety of settings, work collaboratively with a team of Club employees, react quickly to stressful situations, briefly cover various rooms if needed, interact positively with kids and families of all backgrounds, and maintain an emotionally positive environment for kids.
Essential Duties :
Provide therapeutic and behavioral support for children and families to promote success in the Club, school, home, and community. Integrating a social and emotional lens into their work. Social Workers/Mental Health Professionals provide impactful individual counseling and facilitate psycho-educational groups, case management, consultation, crisis intervention, grief support and offer community resources to family's when needed. Work collaboratively with Club employees, public school district employees and other public entities who support the child and connects the family to all appropriate care
Qualifications:
Strong ability to mentor and inspire youth. Ability to work collaboratively with staff. Commitment to promoting safety, quality, and a positive environment within the Club.
Position Requirements:
Graduate Master degree or equivalent required. Must be 21 years of age or older. 1-2 years of relevant work experience Pass pre-employment background screening and drug test The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, be outdoors, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 10 lbs. Monday - Friday 2:30pm to 6pm
