(YAP) is a national nonprofit that provides community-based alternatives to youth incarceration and residential placement. Founded in 1975 and headquartered in Harrisburg, PA, YAP partners with youth justice, child welfare, behavioral health, and education systems to deliver individualized, wraparound services that keep youth safely in their homes and communities. Non-Exempt Summary of the
Position:
Hourly, Part Time Advocate positions serving youth and families throughout Orange County and surrounding counties are available. Advocate must be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in the community, school, and home settings. The Primary responsibilities of the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families. All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model.
Availability:
Non-Traditional Hours; Required to be available during afternoons/early evenings and weekends This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay, and activity reimbursement.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required. Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources Experience working with at-risk youth Strong organizational and communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience using an electronic health record system is a plus. Non-traditional hours may be required to work evenings and weekends as needed.
