Overview We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and community-focused Family Advocate to join our Early Head Start team. This position plays a key role in recruiting and supporting families, connecting them with community resources, and helping ensure children and families receive high-quality services and support. The position also provides transportation assistance and collaborates closely with program staff to promote positive outcomes for enrolled families. This role is Full-Time and benefits eligible; Based out of our Kona office; occasional travel to the northern and southern sides of the Big Island. Agency vehicle provided for transporting families and other work-related responsibilities. Essential Responsibilities Conduct Outreach and Intake Activities Recruit and engage eligible children and families for Early Head Start services. Follow up on referrals and inquiries from prospective families. Participate in community events, resource fairs, and outreach activities. Explain program services and benefits to potential participants. Conduct intake interviews and assist families with enrollment paperwork and required documentation. Maintain enrollment and waitlist records and follow up with interested families. Provide Transportation and Family Support Transport families to program activities, meetings, medical appointments, and community service appointments as needed. Assist families in accessing community resources and services. Support families in participating in parent trainings, meetings, and other Early Head Start activities. Support Staff in the Provision of Quality Services Collaborate with Home Visitors and other program staff to coordinate services for children and families. Assist with preparation and cleanup for family events and socialization activities. Gather and organize documentation needed to support family services. Provide additional support to families and staff as assigned. Vehicle and Program Support Maintain vehicle mileage and inspection logs. Help ensure agency vehicles are properly maintained and equipped. Assist with other program-related duties that contribute to quality service delivery. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years' work experience preferred - experience preferred working with families, children, human services, early childhood programs, or community resources. Valid driver's license required. Ability to travel to families' homes and community settings. Basic computer and data-entry skills. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
