Job Description
Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting student success in a dynamic school environment near Crystal Lake, IL. This contract opportunity is perfect for an experienced Social Worker passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children. You'll work in a day therapeutic program, supporting three dedicated classrooms—two focused on elementary students with emotional disabilities (ED) and one serving elementary students with autism. Your workday will follow a consistent 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. schedule, with a half-hour lunch break to recharge. The assignment runs from ASAP through May 22, 2026, with the potential to renew for the following school year.
Qualifications and Experience:
Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program Valid state licensure/certification for school social work Previous experience in school or pediatric settings, especially with emotional disabilities and autism spectrum disorder, highly valued Strong communication skills for consultation with teachers, staff, and families Ability to collaborate effectively on child study teams and develop intervention plans Knowledge of crisis intervention and de-escalation strategiesKey Responsibilities:
Provide group and individual counseling for students in elementary ED and autism classrooms Support behavioral and emotional development through targeted interventions Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and families to design and implement IEPs and behavioral strategies Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, contributing social-emotional expertise Offer crisis intervention and support when students experience heightened challenges Maintain accurate documentation and progress notesBenefits:
