Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic educational setting and make a meaningful impact as a school-based social worker. This contract opportunity near Harvard, IL allows you to work directly with students, families, and staff to support social and emotional development, foster positive relationships, and promote a safe, inclusive environment.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program Valid state licensure or certification as a school social worker Previous school-based experience is highly valued Strong knowledge of child development, family systems, and crisis intervention strategies Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including educators, counselors, and administrators
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments to identify students' social, emotional, or behavioral needs Provide individual and group counseling sessions for students facing challenges Develop intervention strategies and facilitate crisis response efforts Act as a liaison between the school, families, and community agencies to coordinate resources and referrals Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of IEPs and 504 Plans Deliver training and consultation to school staff on topics related to mental health, trauma, and positive behavior support Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with professional and legal standards If you're committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning and thrive in a supportive school environment, we want to connect with you. to contribute your expertise as a valued member of an educational team and help shape brighter futures for students in this vibrant school community.
