Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of middle school students by providing essential social work services in a supportive school environment! This full-time contract opportunity focuses exclusively on serving 8th grade students, both in general and special education, covering a maternity leave from August 17 through November 27. You'll work with a manageable, close-knit caseload of 20-25 students, offering guidance, support, and advocacy during a critical year in their academic and personal development.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program State licensure and credentials to practice as a School Social Worker Previous experience supporting adolescents in school settings is highly valued Strong communication and collaboration skills with both students and interdisciplinary teams Ability to manage sensitive situations and maintain confidentiality in all interactions Familiarity with both general education and special education processes is advantageous
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct social-emotional support to assigned 8th grade students Collaborate with educators and staff to provide timely interventions Conduct social assessments and contribute to student support plans Facilitate group and individual counseling sessions as needed Communicate with families to ensure coordinated support beyond the classroom setting Participate in team meetings to advocate for student needs and promote a positive educational environment This contract position offers valuable experience in a welcoming educational community and is ideal for social workers passionate about guiding young adolescents through important transitions.
