Job Description

St. Norbert School is seeking an organized, collaborative, and student-centered Aftercare and Extended Programs Director to oversee and coordinate all before- and after-school programs. This individual will be responsible for the daily management of our Before Care, After Care, and Homework Club programs while helping develop and expand additional enrichment opportunities for students outside of the regular school day. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, skilled organizer, and proactive problem-solver who enjoys working with children, families, faculty, and staff to create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for students beyond school hours.
Responsibilities:
Program Management Oversee the daily operation of Before Care, After Care, and Homework Club programs. Ensure all programs maintain a safe, structured, and positive environment for students. Develop procedures and expectations for students and staff participating in extended care programs. Maintain accurate attendance, enrollment, and program records. Staffing and Supervision Recruit, schedule, and coordinate staffing for Before Care, After Care, Homework Club, and possible other extended programs. Serve as the primary point of contact for staff assignments, substitutes, and scheduling changes. Provide supervision, support, and ongoing communication to program staff. Assist with onboarding and training of extended care personnel. Family Communication Communicate with families regarding registration, schedules, policies, and program updates. Address parent questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner. Collaborate with school administration regarding student needs and family communication. Administrative Responsibilities Monitor program enrollment and staffing needs. Assist with budgeting and program planning as directed by administration. Ensure compliance with school policies and safety procedures. Collaborate with the principal and school leadership team to align extended programs with the mission of St. Norbert School. Qualifications Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, recreation, or camp setting. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage schedules, staffing, and multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, students, and families. Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required based on experience. Preferred Qualities Experience supervising staff or coordinating programs. Familiarity with school operations and family engagement. Creative mindset for developing new student opportunities and enrichment programs. Schedule This position may include a combination of administrative hours and before- and after-school responsibilities. Specific hours and compensation will be determined based on program needs and enrollment.
Requirements :
TB test and physical examination as required. Virtus training. Fingerprinting. Submit to criminal history and sex registry background checks. Must be at least 18 years of age or older. Training or equivalent qualifying experience : Must meet one of the following: • High school diploma or equivalent required. •Extensive background working in an early childhood setting.
