Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of students as a dedicated School Social Worker for the 2026/2027 academic year. This contract position offers the opportunity to support the social, emotional, and academic development of young learners in a welcoming school environment near Roscoe, IL. The team is ready to interview and eager to find someone passionate about making a lasting impact.
Key Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement Previous experience supporting children and adolescents in educational settings Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities Familiarity with crisis intervention, IEP processes, and restorative practices is a plus Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct counseling and intervention services to students facing academic, behavioral, or social-emotional challenges Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to develop and implement individualized support plans Participate in multidisciplinary teams and IEP meetings, offering social-emotional expertise Lead prevention and education initiatives on topics such as bullying, trauma, and mental health Advocate for students' needs, connecting families with community resources and services Support a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive school climate This is a unique chance to use your expertise to empower students and strengthen a supportive school community.
