What they do
A Family, School, or General Social Worker provides specialized assistance to vulnerable families and children. Intervenes in crisis situations; evaluates individual and family needs, helps clients get access to health care, mental health care or social services such as housing assistance. Advocates for clients and provides follow up visits. May work with teachers, parents and school administrators to help students improve academically and deal with social issues such as bullying.

Job Description
- Coordinates the assessment and delivery of grief counseling needs and services (one-to-one, groups, and ongoing follow-up) to ensure timely and appropriate services are provided to family/caregivers.
- Provides bereavement information and referral services to callers from the community. Expands and maintains community resource list as needed.
- Participates in hospice activities such as in-service education, hospice personnel meetings, and relevant committees.
- Provides bereavement support to hospice personnel coping with work related grief through one-to-one counseling, supervision of interns providing one-to-one counseling, and referral to community resources.
- Assists as needed in evaluating and planning services to meet hospice personnel support needs (i.e., yearly retreats, weekly support groups).
- Functions independently but seeks and accepts guidance from other members of the interdisciplinary group, or from member of the community.
- Actively participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in Social Work with qualifications of experienced clinical grief counseling.Experience:
Experience with families/caregivers and patients through death/dying issues Experience with clinical grief counseling.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY
Understanding of grief response and experience with counseling individuals and/or in groups regarding loss. Ability to work as a team member. Knowledge and commitment to hospice philosophy. Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.Pay:
$25.00- $31.
