Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Supervised Visitation Specialist to facilitate safe, structured visits between children and their non-custodial parents or guardians. In this vital role, you will provide a supportive environment that promotes healthy parent-child relationships while ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. Your expertise will help foster positive interactions, support family reunification efforts, and uphold child welfare standards through attentive supervision and intervention. Responsibilities Supervise visits between children and non-custodial parents or guardians in accordance with court orders and agency policies. Monitor interactions to ensure safety, appropriate behavior, and compliance with visitation guidelines. Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive engagement and communication during visits. Respond effectively to behavioral challenges or conflicts, employing conflict management strategies to de-escalate situations. Document visit details, including observations, incidents, and any concerns related to child safety or welfare. Collaborate with Department of Child Service, placement, parents, social workers, family law professionals, and other stakeholders to support family reunification goals. Provide crisis intervention when necessary, ensuring immediate safety for children and adults involved. Skills Knowledge of child protective services and child welfare practices Excellent conflict management and crisis intervention skills to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally. Experience working with children, including those with disabilities or behavioral health needs. Proficiency in motivational interviewing (MI) techniques to promote positive parent-child interactions. Training will be held for MI. Ability to manage stressful situations with sensitivity and maintain impartiality during supervision. Effective communication skills for working collaboratively with DCS, Probation, families, placement, legal professionals, and community resources. Knowledge of childcare best practices combined with a commitment to supporting family stability and safety. Pay:
$30.00 - $45.00 per hour
