What they do
A Family, School, or General Social Worker provides specialized assistance to vulnerable families and children. Intervenes in crisis situations; evaluates individual and family needs, helps clients get access to health care, mental health care or social services such as housing assistance. Advocates for clients and provides follow up visits. May work with teachers, parents and school administrators to help students improve academically and deal with social issues such as bullying.

Job Description
General responsibilities include:
Engaging clubhouse members in the work of the clubhouse to build self-esteem and social skills. Assisting members to become more independent in the community through employment, education, recreation and advocacy programs. Developing genuine collegial relationships within the clubhouse community while advocating for change to reduce stigma in the broader society. Job Duties Â- Facilitating meetings Â
- Culinary tasks Â
- Accounting tasks Â
- General knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel Â
- Familiarity with the various social media platforms Â
- Helping members improve their housing situations including filling out applications and assisting with relocation Â
- Typical work hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. â€" Â
- Social programming on Monday/Wednesdays 5pm to 7pm and Saturdays 10:30 to 2pm.
