BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Coordinator provides support for families receiving housing assistance to increase their earned income, reduce dependence on public assistance, and achieve long-term economic independence and self-sufficiency. The Coordinator serves as a coach and advocate and is responsible for administering and delivering comprehensive case management services to participants in the FSS Program. This is done by conducting needs assessments, developing individualized service plans, coordinating support services, managing escrow accounts, and ensuring program compliance with HUD regulations and the Program's Action Plan.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Outreach & Recruitment :
Recruit and interview applicants to assess program eligibility and motivation. Conduct orientations and comprehensive needs assessments using specialized techniques to build trust and help potential participants identify their own goals during the intake process.Case Management & Planning :
Execute Contracts of Participation (a 5-year agreement). Collaborate with participants to develop Individual Training and Service Plans (ITSP) with clear, specific, and measurable goals, such as obtaining employment, education, or preparing for homeownership. Provide ongoing case management, coaching, and progress monitoring through regular meetings, home visits (as needed), and 6-month progress reports.Service Coordination :
Connect participants to community resources, including job training programs, employment services, educational opportunities, childcare, transportation, mental health support, and other wraparound services. Build and maintain strong partnerships with local service providers, employers, educational institutions and social service agencies.Compliance & Reporting :
Maintain detailed case files in accordance with HUD regulations. Track participant progress, maintain accurate records and data. Assist in preparing information for FSS annual survey to HUD and periodically presenting reports for agency leadership and the Board.Compliance & Reporting :
Maintain meticulous electronic and paper files in accordance with HUD regulations, program performance standards, and program policies.Escrow Account Management :
Establish and monitor participant income changes and calculate monthly escrow credits based on increases in earned income.Job Type:
