Family Advocate & Bus Monitor Full-Time | Part-Year (Summers Off) 6:15am -2:45pm M-F Make a Difference Every Day Join SEK-CAP, Inc. as a Family Advocate & Bus Monitor and play a vital role in supporting families and ensuring the safety of children during transportation. This unique position combines family engagement with transportation safety, offering variety and meaningful impact in your workday.
What You'll Do Family Advocate Responsibilities:
Recruit families for Early Head Start and Head Start programs. Build relationships and develop Family Development Partnerships to promote self-reliance. Conduct home visits and assist families in setting and achieving goals. Connect families with community resources and advocate for their needs. Organize parent meetings and engagement activities. Maintain accurate documentation in agency systems.
Bus Monitor Responsibilities:
Ensure children's safety during boarding, riding, and exiting the bus. Follow all transportation safety procedures and emergency protocols. Maintain a positive atmosphere and interact with children during routes. Communicate with parents and distribute notes as needed. What We're Looking For Degree in Social Services preferred OR 4 years of family service coordination experience One year experience working with young children and families preferred Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days Bus Monitor training at first available opportunity Valid driver's license and ability to meet agency insurance guidelines
