Kid's Gym Staff The YMCA Kids Gym program is dedicated to providing a safe and fun environment for children while their parents participate in YMCA activities. We believe in fostering the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children through caring relationships with the adults in our program. Position Overview As a Kid's Gym Staff member, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and engaging atmosphere for children. You will ensure that each child and parent is treated with care, dignity, and respect, while supporting the overall philosophy of the YMCA Kids Gym program. Key Responsibilities Provide a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for children during YMCA activities. Support children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development through positive interactions. Treat each child and parent with care, dignity, and respect at all times. Guide and manage children's behavior using positive discipline techniques. Provide adequate materials and toys appropriate for the number of children in care. Offer positive individual attention to each child to encourage engagement and growth. Redirect negative behaviors in a constructive and supportive manner. Reinforce and encourage children's positive behaviors consistently. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe play environment. Qualifications Experience working with children in a group setting preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to provide positive guidance and discipline. Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children. Commitment to upholding the YMCA's values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
