Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center provides a safe, child-friendly location where children who have experienced abuse can receive services and begin their journey toward healing and justice. Our mission is possible only through the collaboration of the various professionals who must intervene when sexual abuse and/or exploitation of a child is disclosed or suspected.
Position Title:
Multidisciplinary Team Coordinator Position Description:
The Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Coordinator assists teams in meeting their goal of achieving an effective, coordinated, and comprehensive response to cases of child abuse. Key responsibilities of this position are fostering and developing positive MDT relationships and preparing and facilitating monthly case review meetings. In addition, the MDT Coordinator assists with the effective management and compliance of the MDT with policies and standards.
Direct Services:
Builds and fosters relationships with multi-disciplinary teams throughout the service region. Organizes and facilitates case review meetings. Maintains interagency communication regarding status of cases. Initiates case follow-up. Completes MDT case tracking and data management in assigned counties. Reviews notifications of child abuse and neglect from the CHFS Statewide Intake(115s) and Law Enforcement Notifications (LENs). Provides orientation to new MDT members. Facilitates special case staffing meetings when requested by a team. Attends and participates in case staffing meetings. Provides assistance in the Multidisciplinary Enhancement Project. Collects survey data by contacting caregivers and recording their responses. Publishes a quarterly MDT Newsletter. Identifies training needs for MDT professionals and disseminates information to team members regarding available training opportunities. Promotes best practices for child abuse investigation and treatment.
Indirect Services:
Participates in community-based or BRACAC committees work, as needed. Represents BRACAC in center-related activities as needed. Attends and participates in CAC staff meetings.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a human services field Experience facilitating team meetings Experience facilitating collaborative work Experience with case management and writing reports Ability to remain neutral and non-biased as a facilitator Strong oral and written communication skills Strong networking and interpersonal skills Strong organization and multi-tasking skills Experience with Microsoft 365 applications Capacity for learning new systems and software programs Criminal background checks required Preferred Experience Experience working with law enforcement, social services, and prosecutors Experience working on behalf of children who have been abused Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center is funded in whole or in part from federal, Cabinet for Health and Family Services and other state funds.
