YACS Creative Learners from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade are provided with appropriate arts-integrated learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.

Job Description:

To assist creative learners in the educational process by providing strategic services that identify and address the social-emotional-environmental issues that interfere with learning. Working with parents/guardians, teachers, principals, school leaders, and community-based resources, the School Social Worker or School Counselor implements strategies that promote creative learners' positive school adjustment, which aligns with YACS Mission and Vision. School Social Workers and School Counselors are members of the Mental Health Support Services Department.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain social work or counselor credentials. Maintain confidentiality of learners and services provided. Maintain clinical records and other data. Identify and assess academic and behavior concerns impacting creative learners. Determine and implement appropriate interventions and provide individual counseling, group counseling, and whole-class/grade-level services. Collaborate with school staff and other school system personnel. Serve and assist as a Mandated Reporter. Manage crises and complete risk assessments. Participate as a member of the Academic and Behavioral Intervention Team (A/BiT). Conduct assessments to assist in the determination of special education services. Provide social work/counseling minutes per Individual Accommodation Plans (IAPs/504). Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBA) and manage behavior intervention plans (BIPs). Make referrals to community resources. Participate in Restorative Practices. Support with attendance and truancy. Conduct staff professional development and provide parent/guardian educational workshops. Support with the Social and Emotional Learning curriculum and delivery. Help identify and support McKinney-Vento learners. All other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support learner success. Suggested Qualifications Love and appreciation for the arts and arts education Master's degree (required) Preferred licensure (LMSW, LCSW, LPC) 1+ Years of Social Work Experience Salary and Benefits Salary is highly competitive and commensurate with experience.
