The students of COMPASS have emotional/behavioral disorders, along with specific learning disabilities. Students range in age from 6-21 years of age. The salary range listed is for the 10 month school year, the 6 week summer program and driving responsibilities all together.
Responsibilities:
Work with clinical and teaching staff to implement COMPASS Behavior Management System Serve as effective liaison between students, their families, foster families and other agencies Monitor and follow up with students regarding their school attendance Organize and maintain all appropriate records on assigned students Provide Crisis Prevention Intervention to students displaying escalated behaviors, which includes physical restraints Provide transportation to and from school with a provided vehicle - 7d license required. Qualifications and Skills A bachelors degree is preferred but not required Experience working in a school or residential setting with children/teens challenged with learning disabilities and cognitive disorders is preferable. Experience working with behaviorally challenged students a plus Experience in non-violent crisis prevention is preferred but not required Eligible for a 7d license required (MA drivers license, clean driving record) Clean driving record for at least 12 months required COMPASS is a private, non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to serving high-risk economically disadvantaged youth, adolescents, and families who have a history of behavioral, social, emotional, and educational disabilities. Using a team approach, COMPASS works to develop and enhance the confidence and abilities of youth and families by providing services in safe, nurturing and motivating environments.
