This part-time position is ideal for an experienced, skilled professional ready to support our after-school program and create meaningful experiences for kindergarten students. Working under the guidance of the Site Supervisor, you'll develop and implement an engaging enrichment curriculum, manage daily operations and staff supervision, oversee program schedules and routines, and demonstrate the sound judgment and discretion needed to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment while upholding Milton Community Schools' standards and values. This position includes a leadership component requiring the ability to collaborate with site leadership and staff to sustain program operations and support student success.
Position Details Type:
Part-time for the 2026-2027 school year (while school is in session, end of August - mid June)
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 2:00-6:00 PM (11:30 AM-6:00 PM on 2 early dismissal days) Key Responsibilities Plan and conduct daily enrichment activities for children, including physical activities, arts & crafts projects, STEM activities, group work, and various other activities determined by the site supervisor. Design and teach weekly "clubs" that focus on interests shared by students. Provide documented lesson plans for all activities, including the "clubs" curriculum. Support and manage large groups of children transitioning into and out of before and after-school programs. Provide supervision and support in before and after-school settings to help students participate in group class activities and encourage pro-social behaviors. Maintain a positive, inclusive environment for both children and adults in conjunction with other team members at all times. Maintain constant communication with the director, site supervisor, and other staff. Record attendance and, with the supervisor's authorization, contact parents regarding absent students and schedules. Provide professional development for all program staff assigned to the Kindergarten program. Participate in staff meetings and attend training opportunities. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements Associate degree (Related field: Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Human Services, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, the Arts). Have a minimum of three years of demonstrated experience working with children between the ages of 5 and 11 years in a camp, after-school, and/or classroom setting. Preferred experience in working with children from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds, as well as children with special needs. Citizenship, residency, or a work visa is required. Availability during school vacation (Winter and Spring break) and district-wide Early Dismissal Days. All prospective staff will be required to undergo background checks and be fingerprinted.
Physical Demands :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, walk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to run during play or in response to an emergency. Employees are frequently required to engage with children on the floor and at their eye level. Employees are frequently required to use their hands and arms to handle and manipulate objects, as well as reach. Vision abilities are required for the supervision of children.
