Job Description

Angier After School Program (AASP) in Newton is hiring a Kindergarten Program Coordinator for the 26-27 School Year! Are you an educator or childcare professional looking to support kindergarten students in their social, emotional, and creative growth? AASP is a K-5th grade program looking for an enthusiastic and experienced educator with an interest in crafting, performing arts, nature, and/or athletics to join our leadership team! Responsibilities include:
Leading a group of 2-3 part time teachers and 15-20 students Supervising and mentoring your team's teaching staff Completing observations and evaluations for staff Overseeing and collaborating with other staff on calendar planning and classroom management Regular email and in-person communication with parents & families Planning and implementing student activities Supporting social emotional development Collaborating with other Coordinators and administration Assisting with K-5 programming such as theater, floor hockey, and special events Supervising and participating in outdoor activities and free play
Requirements:
Must have a minimum of 3 years experience working with school-age children in a childcare, camp, or school setting, OR 2 years of childcare plus management experience in another field Must have a high school diploma; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred Candidates should be reliable, creative, team-oriented, and energetic Must pass all background checks
Schedule:
12pm
  • 6pm: Mondays & Tuesdays 11am
  • 6pm: Wednesdays 2pm
  • 6pm: Thursday & Fridays 27 hours/week Candidates must be available all five days, Monday-Friday, but admin time may be "flexed" The position is for the 2026-2027 school year beginning the week of August 17th We follow the Newton Public Schools calendar (school year only) Salary is $26
  • 28 an hour depending on education and experience.
Benefits include individual health and dental coverage; 401(k) with match; 2 weeks paid time off plus school holidays; and paid professional development. We are offering a $500 signing bonus, which will be paid out over your first two paychecks once all background checks and required paperwork are completed.
