Intern Stipend:
A paid internship stipend will be awarded during the second semester of the internship upon successful completion of first-semester requirements and satisfactory performance. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one and small-group academic instruction to clients participating in behavioral support programs. Assist clients with foundational academic skills including reading, writing, mathematics, and study strategies. Support individuals preparing for the GED by providing tutoring , test preparation, and academic coaching. Collaborate with educational staff and behavioral specialists to implement individualized educational plans and behavioral interventions. Assist with lesson planning, curriculum implementation, and instructional activities that meet diverse learning needs. Reinforce positive behavior support strategies while maintaining a structured, safe, and engaging learning environment. Monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate observations with supervisors. Support classroom management and facilitate educational activities that promote academic growth, social-emotional development, and independence. Adapt instructional strategies for individuals with disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, learning differences, and behavioral challenges. Participate in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and ongoing training. Qualifications Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Education (or a closely related field). Passion for teaching, mentoring, and supporting learners from diverse backgrounds. Interest in working with children, adolescents, and adults in educational and behavioral settings. Knowledge of instructional strategies, lesson planning, and differentiated instruction. Understanding of behavior management techniques and trauma-informed educational practices is preferred. Experience working with individuals with disabilities, autism, or behavioral health populations is a plus. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with educators, behavioral specialists, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards.
