To Be Determined Job Description Blueprint Implementation & School Improvement Coordinator Somerset County Public Schools (SCPS), Maryland Position Summary The Blueprint Implementation & School Improvement Coordinator leads the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of key district initiatives aligned to the Blueprint for Maryland's Future and federal programs, including Title II-A. This position focuses on strengthening educator quality, supporting school improvement efforts, and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state requirements. The Coordinator works collaboratively with Human Resources, instructional leadership, and school-based staff to enhance teacher development, retention, and student outcomes. Key Responsibilities Blueprint Implementation & Strategic Planning Serve as the district lead for implementation of the Blueprint for Maryland's Future initiatives. Support development, implementation, and monitoring of the Local Consolidated Strategic Plan (LCSP/LEA Plan) . Align district initiatives with Blueprint priorities, educator pipelines, and student achievement goals. Title II-A & Educator Development Oversee planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting for Title II-A programs. Coordinate and oversee Title II-A-funded induction programs for new educators.
Develop and maintain systems for:
New teacher onboarding and support Mentoring and coaching structures Educator pipeline initiatives in collaboration with Human Resources Support recruitment, retention, and professional growth strategies district-wide. Partnerships & Pipeline Development Coordinate and support Professional Development Schools (PDS) partnerships. Manage relationships with universities and intern programs to strengthen teacher pipelines. Facilitate collaboration between district staff and higher education partners. Professional Learning & Capacity Building Design and facilitate district-wide, research-based professional learning (PL) . Collaborate with instructional supervisors to align PL with curriculum, instruction, and assessment priorities. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of professional learning initiatives. Support and coordinate School Professional Learning Plans . School Improvement & Monitoring Support development and ongoing monitoring of School Improvement Plans . Analyze data to guide school and district improvement efforts. Assist schools in aligning improvement strategies with state and federal expectations. Program Oversight & Compliance Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, grant requirements, and Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) guidance. Oversee compliance and implementation of the Career Coach Program . Develop, implement, and monitor corrective action plans as needed. Maintain accurate documentation and prepare required reports. Additional Duties Collaborate with district and school leaders to ensure effective implementation of initiatives. Provide technical assistance and support to schools and departments. Perform other duties as assigned by district leadership. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field preferred. Experience in educator development, school improvement, or federal program management (Title II-A preferred). Knowledge of the Blueprint for Maryland's Future and MSDE expectations strongly preferred. Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills. Experience designing and facilitating professional learning. Ability to analyze data and use it to drive decision-making. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Working Conditions Office-based with regular travel to schools across the district. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for professional learning or partnership activities.
