Districtwide The Westbrook School Department is seeking a full time District Social Worker to:
  • Serve as the McKinney Vento liaison and assist with our qualified students and their families
  • Network with Community Service Providers to provide essential services
  • Become a Safety Care Trainer and provide employee training
  • Become a Community of Practice Leader for our Social Workers and School Counselors
  • Consult, assist, record data for staff around Behavior Plans, Risk Assessments, School Refusals, Attendance, and Threat Assessments
  • Maintain Chapter 33 records, data, and debriefing
  • Maintain Attendance records and data
  • Facilitate referrals to the Department of Health and Human Services for child abuse and neglect cases
  • Assist with Out of District referrals and become the liaison between special purpose private school and families The position requires: The eagerness to be part of a dynamic team.
The Social Worker will participate as a member of the District, maintain confidentiality, provide data, coordinate resources, organize record keeping, and maintain home school assistance. Qualifications:
  • Licensed by State of Maine Social Work Registration Board (LCSW, LMSW) or equivalent
  • Hold a Masters degree in Social Work or equivalent
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in academic settings
