Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Empower students to thrive by using your expertise as a School Social Worker to make a real difference every day. This contract role is based onsite and runs from late August 2026 to mid-May 2027. You'll provide vital social work services to approximately 40 students across two elementary schools and a preschool classroom, supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth.
Key Qualifications:
Approval from the Michigan Department of Education to practice as a School Social Worker Demonstrated experience in delivering social work services within educational settings Strong communication skills for collaboration with students, families, and school staff Ability to develop and implement interventions that foster student well-being Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding school policies
Core Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments to identify students' needs and create individualized support strategies Facilitate group and individual counseling sessions focused on social and emotional development Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to promote a supportive learning environment Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary Participate in multidisciplinary teams to create positive educational experiences for students Advocate for students and connect families to community resources as needed This assignment offers a fulfilling opportunity to positively impact young lives in a supportive educational community.
