Job Description
Oasis Family Resource Center is looking for a full-time, (32-40 hrs) advocate to work with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. The perfect candidate for this position: Has an interest in psychology, social work, or human services. Has great communication skills. Stays calm, cool, and collected when presented with a crisis or urgent need. Understands goal setting and action planning. Is familiar with local community resources and/or has experience using DHHS assistance programs. Enjoys teaching life skills, coping skills, and recovery skills to individuals who have experienced trauma. Is non-judgmental and willing to help people of any age, race, religion, or socioeconomic background. Can be flexible, sometimes working outside of normal business hours. Ability to be on-call for crisis situations, on a rotating basis. If this describes you, we would like to speak with you about doing advocacy work with Oasis. We will provide training to the right person. You must have transportation, pass a background check, and provide references.
