Oasis Family Resource Center is looking for a full-time, (32-40 hrs) advocate to work with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. The perfect candidate for this position: Has an interest in psychology, social work, or human services. Has great communication skills. Stays calm, cool, and collected when presented with a crisis or urgent need. Understands goal setting and action planning. Is familiar with local community resources and/or has experience using DHHS assistance programs. Enjoys teaching life skills, coping skills, and recovery skills to individuals who have experienced trauma. Is non-judgmental and willing to help people of any age, race, religion, or socioeconomic background. Can be flexible, sometimes working outside of normal business hours. Ability to be on-call for crisis situations, on a rotating basis. If this describes you, we would like to speak with you about doing advocacy work with Oasis.
