Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into an impactful role supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development across two elementary schools and a preschool classroom. This contract opportunity offers a chance to work onsite with a diverse caseload of approximately 40 students, making a significant difference in their everyday school experience. The assignment runs from late August 2026 through mid-May 2027, offering a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours each week.
Key Qualifications:
Michigan Department of Education approval as a School Social Worker Previous experience in school-based social work, particularly within elementary and preschool environments, is preferred Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams Ability to adapt strategies for diverse student needs and backgrounds Passion for creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver social work services onsite to promote student growth, engagement, and well-being Conduct assessments and create tailored intervention plans for individual students and groups Collaborate with educational staff to support behavioral, social-emotional, and academic interventions Provide resources and guidance to families, helping to bridge home and school environments Participate in meetings, contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and maintain accurate documentation Imagine yourself as a key member of a dedicated educational team, making meaningful connections with students and families.
