Job Description

Step into a highly impactful contract role supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of students as a School Social Worker in a vibrant educational community. You'll work onsite, engaging directly with approximately 40 students across two elementary schools and one preschool classroom. With a supportive environment and opportunities to collaborate alongside education professionals, each day presents meaningful opportunities to make a difference.
Key experience and qualifications:
Current approval from the Michigan Department of Education as a School Social Worker A passion for working with young learners in elementary and preschool settings Strong communication and relationship-building skills with students, families, and staff Familiarity with individualized plans and effective interventions for diverse student needs Ability to balance responsibilities across multiple sites and support a range of social/emotional concerns Role responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive school social work services to meet students' academic, behavioral, and emotional needs Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement intervention plans Provide one-on-one and group support sessions to help students manage challenges and achieve personal growth Support positive school climates and contribute to prevention and intervention initiatives Maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance with district and state requirements This full-time, onsite position gives you the chance to play a key role within an engaged school community from late August through mid-May, following the traditional academic calendar.
