Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract This full-time Social Worker position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within an elementary school setting. Located in Livonia, MI, this role focuses on providing essential social work services directly to students, families, and staff in an onsite environment. The position involves managing a caseload of elementary-aged students, working closely to support their social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct individual and group counseling sessions tailored to elementary students' developmental levels Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement intervention plans Assess student needs and connect families with community resources and services Facilitate crisis intervention and provide support during emergency situations Maintain thorough documentation and case records in compliance with school policies Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and strategies
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Social Worker licensure or certification applicable for school settings Experience working with elementary-aged children in a school environment Knowledge of social work principles, counseling techniques, and child development Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff Capability to manage a full caseload efficiently while maintaining a student-focused approach Commitment to onsite presence, supporting students and staff directly within the school
