Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students' academic, social, and emotional growth in a rewarding contract position onsite near Lowell, MI. In this role, you'll provide professional school social work services across two elementary schools and a preschool classroom, working closely with a caseload of approximately 40 students. Operating within a supportive educational environment, you'll have the opportunity to foster positive change for children and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to student success.
Key Qualifications:
Current approval from the Michigan Department of Education as a School Social Worker Previous experience providing social work services in school settings is highly desirable Strong communication, advocacy, and problem-solving skills Ability to develop and implement intervention strategies to meet students' academic, emotional, and behavioral needs Comfort working onsite and engaging with students, staff, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct individual and group social work services to students in elementary and preschool classrooms Assess student needs, develop goals, and design interventions to promote their academic and personal development Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, families, and outside agencies to ensure a comprehensive approach to student support Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, contribute to IEPs, and provide crisis intervention as needed Maintain accurate case notes and documentation in compliance with school and state standards This is a full-time contract role, 37.5 hours per week, aligned with the school academic calendar from late August 2026 through mid-May 2027.
