Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful role providing social work services within a school environment near Marshall, MI. This contract opportunity supports a valued team during a maternity leave, with a potential extension through June. Work up to 40 hours per week, primarily onsite, but remote (VOCO) arrangements may be considered for the right candidate.
Key Qualities and Required Experience:
Current and full school social worker certification; please verify credentials through the Michigan Department of Education's public credential search. Proven experience as a school social worker, supporting students at the K-12 level. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, families, and multidisciplinary educational staff. Ability to provide crisis intervention, group and individual counseling, and resource referrals efficiently. Flexibility and resilience to adapt to changing student and school needs during the assignment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver direct and indirect social work services tailored to individual student needs. Collaborate with teachers and administrators to devise strategies that address barriers to learning and promote positive educational outcomes. Maintain thorough and timely documentation, working within all relevant school policies and state regulations. Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions to provide professional input and advocacy. Support a safe, inclusive, and respectful school culture, fostering students' social, emotional, and behavioral growth.
