Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by providing essential support as a School Social Worker on a contract assignment for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time position covers multiple maternity leave periods, offering up to 40 hours per week. Located in the vibrant Marshall, MI area, this role is perfect for passionate professionals seeking to foster a positive school environment through compassionate counseling and resource coordination.
Key Qualifications:
Hold a valid, current school social worker certification (please submit certification with your application) Demonstrated experience supporting students within an educational setting Strong communication and collaboration abilities with teachers, staff, families, and external agencies Skilled in crisis intervention, behavioral support, and development of Student Support Plans Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and sensitivity Flexibility and adaptability to meet varying caseload needs throughout the academic year
Responsibilities:
Deliver social work services to students, addressing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges Provide individual and group counseling sessions as needed Collaborate with educators, families, and community partners to maximize student success Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to develop and implement intervention strategies and IEPs Manage records and documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines Support smooth transitions and maintain continuity of care during staff absences This assignment features scheduled start dates in August and October, and runs for approximately 12 weeks per leave, offering valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive educational environment.
