A Family, School, or General Social Worker provides specialized assistance to vulnerable families and children. Intervenes in crisis situations; evaluates individual and family needs, helps clients get access to health care, mental health care or social services such as housing assistance. Advocates for clients and provides follow up visits. May work with teachers, parents and school administrators to help students improve academically and deal with social issues such as bullying.
Hourly $27.22 - 36.63 It is a Therapist that is needed but they will need to have a masters' degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling and possess the corresponding State of Michigan licensure. As a Adult Outpatient Therapist in the Adult Behavioral Health Program , you will be responsible for the following: Primary responsibility is to participate in the delivery of clinical services, including intake evaluations, and direct treatment for adults and families. Assess and document the needs of clients who present themselves for outpatient mental health and/or co-occurring substance abuse services utilizing Person-Centered Planning principals. Provide individual and group therapy. Work collaboratively with others in relation to the client and family including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, school personnel and other family service or support people. Must meet all of the contractual requirements of the funding sources and/or agency, including maintaining State licensure. Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings and case consultations. Complete clinical records and agency documentation in a timely manner consistent with policies and procedures of the Guidance Center. Follow a professional code of ethics. Coordinate effective discharge planning prior to case closure. Complete 24 hours of training in the treatment of adults with mental health and/or co-occurring substance abuse disorders. Other duties as needed. Regular working hours are Monday through Thursday 8:30 am to 7 pm, Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm and Saturday 9 am to 1 pm. Flexible scheduling is available. Some evening and/or weekend hours may be required based on program needs.

] Candidates must obtain the Qualified Mental Health Professional credential within 120 days of hire. Must have one year of experience (may include time spent in fieldwork or internship) treating or working with people who have been diagnosed with mental illness. - [
