Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a School Social Worker in a supportive educational environment near Twin Lake, MI. This full-time, full school year (FSY) role offers the chance to make a lasting difference in students' lives by providing the social, emotional, and behavioral support they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom. You'll collaborate closely with school staff, families, and the local community to help foster a positive, inclusive, and safe atmosphere for all students.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Valid State licensure/certification to practice as a School Social Worker Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program Previous experience working in K-12 educational settings preferred In-depth understanding of child development, crisis intervention, and special education processes Strong skills in counseling, advocacy, and collaboration Ability to build rapport with students, faculty, and families from diverse backgrounds
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs Develop, implement, and monitor individualized intervention plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Provide short-term and ongoing counseling services to students Serve as a liaison between school, families, and outside agencies to coordinate necessary resources Support students with IEPs, 504 plans, and those requiring behavioral or crisis intervention Facilitate group sessions and educational workshops for students, staff, and parents Maintain accurate records and comply with all legal and ethical requirements This opportunity presents a meaningful way to empower students, support faculty, and impact your community—all while gaining valuable school-based experience.
