Responsible Thinking Coordinator - Williamston Middle School
REPORTS TO
Building Principal
QUALIFICATIONS
College Degree and/or Teaching Certification preferred Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the Responsible Thinking Process and Restorative Justice practices. Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills Interest in and knowledge of working with middle school students.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the consistent implementation of the Responsible Thinking Process, including the coordination of students' written plans and negotiations with teachers. Utilize Restorative Justice practices to address behavioral concerns and/or peer conflicts. Collect and analyze behavior and attendance data. Communicate with teaching, counseling, and other school staff on a daily basis. Collaborate with other staff as a member of the Behavior Response Team. Support noon staff with monitoring behaviors as well as planning lunch/recess. Effectively communicate with and mentor students to help improve school norms and expectations. Guide students to proper school supports/resources when behavioral intervention is needed. Participate in ongoing district-wide training to help create an inclusive and inviting school culture. Collaborate with building administration to problem-solve situations that may be an escalation of student behavior. Communicate with parent(s) and guardian(s) about student behaviors and patterns. Maintain confidentiality when working with students, families, and community members. Monitor hallways during passing time, lunch periods, and before/afterschool release. Provide support for other duties as assigned by building administrators. Document behavioral interventions when issues persist. Ability to work well with staff and take direction well. SALARY:
Per Secretarial Contract (School Support Staff II) Comprehensive retirement and insurance benefits packages (or $5,000 cash in lieu of health insurance) Annual paid time off, as follows: 2 Personal Days 12 Sick Days 8 Paid Holidays Longevity pay, once eligible Good Attendance Bonus Google Certification Bonus Sick bank payout available up to $10,000 upon retirement, if qualified
