Job Description

Alexandra House is seeking a full-time Youth Services Advocate to provide trauma-informed advocacy, prevention education, and support services to children, youth, parents, and community members impacted by domestic violence, sexual violence, and abuse. The role works closely with schools, juvenile justice programs, community organizations, and families to promote safety, education, and healthy relationships. Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide trauma-informed advocacy, crisis intervention, safety planning, referrals, and emotional support to children, youth, and families impacted by domestic violence, sexual violence, dating violence, stalking, and abuse.
  • Deliver prevention education and healthy relationship programming to youth, parents, educators, and community members in schools, juvenile justice settings, and community-based programs.
  • Facilitate youth support groups and educational groups, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with schools, juvenile justice programs, community organizations, and other stakeholders to increase access to services and prevention programming.
  • Participate in program evaluation activities, including collection of outcome data, participant feedback, and reporting requirements to support continuous quality improvement and grant compliance.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential participant records, service statistics, and required documentation.
  • Assist with outreach efforts, social media content, community awareness activities, and special events that promote Alexandra House services.
  • Support organizational initiatives that advance diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and culturally responsive services.
  • Provide occasional backup support to shelter and crisis services programs as needed.
  • Build and enhance community relationships while educating community members and professionals about domestic and sexual violence and Alexandra House services. Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Child Development, Education, Communications, Public Health, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education, lived experience, and professional experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with youth, families, or vulnerable populations in advocacy, social services, education, behavioral health, prevention, or related settings.
  • Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed care, victim-centered advocacy, and the dynamics of domestic violence, sexual violence, and exploitation.
  • Experience facilitating groups, presentations, workshops, or educational programming.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with youth and engage effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong written, verbal, and public speaking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, virtual communication platforms, and electronic record-keeping systems.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout Anoka County. Preferred Candidate Qualifications
  • Experience providing school-based advocacy or prevention education.
  • Experience working within juvenile justice, educational, child welfare, or community-based systems.
  • Experience facilitating support groups for youth or survivors.
  • Completion of Minnesota's 40-hour Sexual Assault Advocacy Training or ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, particularly Spanish, Somali, Arabic, Oromo, Hmong, or ASL.
  • Experience working within a nonprofit or grant-funded environment.
  • Knowledge of outcome measurement, data collection, and reporting practices. Starting Salary Range $43,680
  • $53,508 DOQ, with a full benefit package with free virtual health care and counseling with qualified health plan, dental, vision, retirement plan with 3% match, vacation & medical accrual, 10 recognized holidays, 3 floating holidays and 1 birthday benefit. Hours Generally, 7:00am
  • 3:30pm M
  • F, with ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours to accommodate program needs. Alexandra House has a hybrid environment
