To Be Determined Job Description Community Education/Activities Department Battle of the Books Advisor - Pike Lake Elementary, Duluth 2026-2027 school year Duties and responsibilities include: Developing and assisting with reading comprehension strategies, organizing and executing practice and Battle of the Book day plans, working with the Youth Enrichment Coordinator to schedule facilities for practices and the battle, being a positive influence and role model for elementary students in and out the classroom, promoting a culture of safety, being creative and innovative, and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with strong reading comprehension strategies, effective communication, strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills, and who possess sportsmanship and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Requirements:
bachelor's degree or higher and experience working with students.
Work Schedule:
The work schedule is determined by the Youth Enrichment Coordinator, however, the input of the Battle of the Books Advisor is strongly considered. Must be available to work with students after school. All hours are scheduled to meet the needs of the students served by the program.
