Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a School Social Worker for a maternity leave coverage from August 24th through December 23rd. This full-time position offers the chance to make a positive impact within a dynamic educational environment. Workdays begin at 7:15 AM and are structured as standard 8-hour days. You'll manage a caseload of approximately 50 students, providing targeted support and guidance to help each child thrive both socially and academically.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid licensure and credentials to practice as a School Social Worker Prior experience in K-12 educational settings preferred Strong understanding of social-emotional learning, crisis intervention, and case management principles Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, and staff Organizational abilities to manage documentation and student records with attention to detail Empathy, adaptability, and a student-centered approach to problem solving
Responsibilities:
Provide direct social-emotional support and counseling to students on your caseload Develop and implement intervention plans tailored to diverse needs Collaborate closely with educators, counselors, and families to foster a safe, inclusive school climate Maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state regulations Conduct assessments and support Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) as appropriate Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and professional development
