Job Description
St. Francis Borgia Grade School, a vibrant Catholic school community in the heart of Washington, is seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable Part-Time Aftercare Aide to join our after-school program. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is looking for meaningful part-time work during after-school hours. Aftercare aides help provide a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for students from preschool through eighth grade. Responsibilities Supervise and actively engage with students during aftercare. Assist with games, crafts, activities, homework time, and snacks. Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive environment. Reinforce school expectations and appropriate student behavior. Assist with student dismissal and ensure students are released to authorized adults. Support the Aftercare Director with daily routines and program needs. Help clean and organize the aftercare space at the end of each session. Communicate concerns or incidents to the Aftercare Director or principal. Qualifications Experience working with children is preferred but not required. Must be dependable, patient, responsible, and enthusiastic. Ability to work well with children of different ages. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education. Completion of required Archdiocesan Safe Environment training and background screening. This part-time position is ideal for college students, retired educators, parents, or anyone who enjoys working with children and wants to make a positive difference in their day.
