Job Summary St. Francis Borgia Grade School, a vibrant Catholic school community in the heart of Washington, is seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable Part-Time Aftercare Director to lead our after-school program. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is looking for meaningful part-time work during after-school hours. The Aftercare Director helps create a safe, welcoming, and fun environment where students can relax, play, complete homework, and enjoy time with their classmates at the end of the school day. The Aftercare Director will supervise students and aftercare aides while helping ensure that the program remains organized, positive, and aligned with the mission and values of St. Francis Borgia Grade School. Job Responsibilities Supervise and actively engage with students during after-school hours. Lead and organize age-appropriate games, activities, crafts, and recreation. Coordinate snacks and daily aftercare routines for students in preschool through eighth grade. Provide a safe, structured, and supportive environment for all students. Supervise aftercare aides and help ensure program expectations are followed. Monitor student behavior and reinforce school and aftercare guidelines. Promote kindness, respect, responsibility, and Catholic values. Communicate concerns, incidents, or important information to the principal in a timely manner. Assist with student dismissal and ensure students are released only to authorized adults. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming aftercare space. Ensure the safety and well-being of every student in the program. Job Requirements Experience working with children in a school, childcare center, camp, youth program, or similar setting is preferred. Ability to calmly and effectively supervise groups of children of different ages. Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Must be dependable, patient, flexible, and enthusiastic. Ability to work independently and provide leadership to aftercare aides. Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education. Completion of all required Archdiocesan Safe Environment training and background screening.
