After-School Counselor Central Park School for Children - 3.8 Durham, NC Job Details Temporary | Part-time $16 - $18 an hour 23 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications CPR Certification Education Experience working with middle schoolers Working with students Camp experience Full Job Description Ideal candidates will: have at least 1 year of experience working with children have a Bachelor's degree in education or related field OR be working toward a Bachelor's degree in education or related field have an interest in leading enrichment activities with middle schoolers (art, sports, dance, science, rocket building, skateboarding; anything you find exciting!) have experienced discrimination, isolation, and/or bias exemplify the school's emphasis on character development and community and have an appreciation for CPSC's mission and vision
Job Responsibilities:
Work during After School from 3:00-6:00 Monday-Friday Work during extended days on the 1st Wednesday of every month (1:00-6:00) Work during extended days on the last day of every quarter (11:30-6:00) Attend one day After School Counselor Orientation before the school year begins Attend weekly team meetings (Tuesdays 6-6:30) When available, work full-time during 2-5 week intersession camps in October, December, March, and June Assist in preparing afternoon snacks Serve as lead counselor for a group of 15-25 students (distributing snacks, taking attendance and managing behavior) Assist students with homework and academic activities Plan and lead enrichment activities based on your interests Assist students in keeping After School rooms clean and organized
