Director of ESL/Migrant Education FLSA Status:
Non Exempt Start Date:
8/1/2026; Permanent Part Time with No Benefits 12 months, 19 hours or less per week Position Summary Serves as a liaison between the school, family, and community for ESL/Immigrant Families. Qualification and Special Requirements High school diploma required, BS preferred. Bilingual spoken and written (English & Spanish). Familiarity with migrant and immigrant issues and challenges, locally, regionally, and nationally. Good communication skills and ability to relate to a variety of people in multiple situations - office, fields, community agencies, school personnel, students, and/or parents, etc. Knowledge of local resources - social and health service agencies Flexibility in schedule and approach to work assignments. Knowledge of the geographical area of Henderson County. Possesses own transportation. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of and ability to communicate in Spanish and English languages. Knowledge of federal program policies and procedures. Knowledge of office procedures and operation of office equipment.
Essential Duties:
Completes school registration for non-English speaking families. Conducts orientation to HCPS for new non-English speaking families. Collaborates with community agencies to provide services for students and families. Supports parental involvement for non-English speaking families. Provides support for families with questions or concerns. Accompanies families to school related meets as an advocate.
