JOB DESCRIPTION
- Part Time, 8:45 AM - 2:00 PM Monday through
Friday General Summary:
Responsible for interviewing, evaluating and assisting persons in need in the Crisis Assistance Ministry.
Relationships:
Maintains excellent relationships with all primary constituencies—clients, customers, volunteers and employees. Reports to the Social Work Lead.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Performs operational tasks for the Prevention and Diversion Department. 2. In collaboration with the Director of Prevention and Diversion, develops and provides updates and recommendations to the Executive Director with regard to criteria for assisting those in need. 3. Assists with client check-in and updates client information as may be required. 4. Interviews clients to evaluate their needs, the level of crisis, priorities and identifies assistance that may be available to them. 5. Seeks guidance from and consults with Department Director with regard to the Crisis Assistance. 6. Maintains an updated referral base for clients. 7. Documents and distributes funds for those who qualify for rent and utility assistance. 8. Documents and provides vouchers for those who qualify for clothing and food. 9. Escorts qualifying clients to services within the ministry 10. In collaboration with the Director, maintain Crisis Assistance Ministry programmatic, informational and usage data 12. Provides monthly data for department 13. Professionalism Begins work on time/works scheduled hours; keeps absences within guidelines. Performs according to scope of practice. Completes annual training as required. Keeps abreast of policies and procedures. Dresses appropriately for position in accordance with agency dress code policy. Adapts to changes in the work environment. Communications Keeps others adequately informed as needed. Exhibits good listening and comprehension. Uses negotiation skills to resolve conflicts. Maintains effective professional relations. Participates fully in meeting team objectives. Client Relations Treats client with respect and compassion. Respects confidentiality. Supports social/spiritual/cultural needs of others. Solicits/applies customer feedback to improve service. Deals effectively with difficult situations. Planning & Organization Sets and achieves goals and objectives. Prioritizes and plans work activities. Plans for additional resources. Meets productivity standards. Works with other team members in providing client care . Quality Monitors own work to ensure quality. Works within ethical standards. Participates in performance improvement activities. Works toward established standards for client outcomes. Environmental Safety Uses equipment and materials properly and safely. Maintains equipment and troubleshoots as necessary. .
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of Word, Excel, general computer skills required. 2. Ability to work harmoniously with staff and volunteers. 3. Excellent verbal and non-verbal skills necessary for telephone interaction and face to face contact, and ability to communicate effectively in writing. 4. Excellent organizational skills. 5. Be sensitive to the needs of the community of Burke County. 6. Physical and emotional health necessary for the accomplishment of the job. 7. Mature judgment with sufficient intellectual capacity for the position. 8. Personal qualities enabling him/her to work effectively with clients, volunteers, sustaining churches, donors, businesses and community for maximum client benefit. 9. Ability to relate to people in general in a manner which promotes mutual understanding, caring, and support. 10. A strong desire for continued personal and professional growth and development. 12. Visual acuity to read written documentation and computer tasks. 13. Ability to sit extended periods of time. Manual dexterity with the ability to manipulate office equipment and keyboard for extended periods of time 14. Ability to walk, squat, kneel, climb and balance.

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
