Recess & After Care Coach Dwight Englewood School - 4.5 Englewood, NJ Job Details Full-time $41,000 a year 4 hours ago Qualifications Conflict resolution among children Working with students Full Job Description Recess & After Care Coach Dwight-Englewood Lower School Working under the supervision of the Assistant Principal and the D-E 360 Program Director, the Lower School is looking for a full-time Recess & After Care Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. The Dwight-Englewood Lower School is a place where adults encourage children to embrace every aspect of childhood while paying close attention to each students' growth and progress. We partner closely with families to ensure the academic, social, and physical well-being of students. Coaches play an essential role in fostering a safe, inclusive, active, and joyful environment for all students. They provide oversight and guidance for students during lunch, recess, dismissal, after school care, and other key transitions. Working in close partnership with students, faculty, administration, and the after school staff, this role supports a positive culture during the school day and extends that into our after-school program to ensure a seamless and engaging experience for students. Responsibilities Promote and uphold the mission and core values of the Dwight-Englewood School Model and teach safe, inclusive play for students in preschool through Grade 5 Facilitate a variety of structured and unstructured games, sports, and activities that encourage both competitive and cooperative play Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to student supervision Maintain and organize recess equipment and supplies Support student wellbeing during lunch, recess, after-school, and other unstructured times Qualifications Understanding of child development for children ages 3-11 Strong ability to guide, support, and engage children during play Knowledge of age-appropriate conflict resolution strategies for children CPR/First Aid and concussion protocol certification preferred (training provided) Familiarity with, or a willingness to learn, the Responsive Classroom approach
